The Virginia Department of Health and Dept of Education need to remember the recent outcry in Loudon County VA- when the school system conspired to hide a transgender rape- (a boy wearing a skirt who assaulted a classmate in the ladies' room) allowing the rapist to move to another school and claim another victim.  This is an example of a dangerous, radical political agenda at work that promotes "transgenderism" at the expense of settled science, common sense, morality, and safety of school children.  Now we learn that under revised guidelines, children can be referred for abortion "counseling" (encouraged to get an abortion) and exposed to lewd material.  Most parents do not want schools to provide any material that promotes abortion, sexual deviancy or adolescent sexual experimentation (which promotes teen-age pregnancy, many of them unwanted)- or exposes them to topics which are clearly age inappropriate.  Pushing transgenderism on young children is tantamount to child abuse-- the ugly term "grooming" fits.  Doing so without notification to parents is a violation of parental rights.  Our children are not meant to be pawns in a political chess game. I have yet to see a coherent explanation of why my children needed to get parental permission for a day's bus trip to a museum, but such permission wasn't required to direct them to a Planned Parenthood clinic for an abortion or to obtain contraceptives.
