Guidance Document Change: Support Coordination/Case Management is the core service that Virginians with developmental disabilities and behavioral health disorders use to help navigate and make the best use of Virginia’s publicly funded system of services. Strengthening the Support Coordinator’s/Case Manager’s role is essential to assuring effective and accountable services within the Medicaid Developmental Disability Waivers. The purpose of this manual is to guide Support Coordinators in all aspects of their work.

Hello

I honestly have only one issue, and that is for the love of Christmas can we please go ahead and stop calling this thing a manual. I cannot tell you the number of conversations I've had where people are completely confused if we are talking about this document or the DD Waiver manual.

This wouldn't be difficult at all. Here are some suggestions: "The DD Support Coordinator Handbook", "The 2022 Guide to DD Support Coordination", or my personal choice "Uncle John's Ol' Timey Support Coordination Companion". All of these are better choices because we wouldn't confuse them with "The Manual", which is what everyone calls the DD Waiver manual.
