Safe bike lanes are crucial to those who use the bikes for transportation. Conveyance through Bank St is part of the dedicated bike lanes that can facilitate safe biking from Shockoe Bottom to the Museum District. Blocking access, especially at night, simply puts more people at risk. We need to be making carbon-free, inexpensive bike travel easier and safer, not harder. As one who uses this route regularly, I am dismayed that my safety and those of others is being discounted.
