The staffing guidelines, ratios, and regulations for MH IOP and Partial Hospital Day Treatment are much more stringent than SUD IOP and SUD Partial Hospital day treatment, and at a much lower reimburse rate. This is stigmatizing. It reflects and idea that MH clients are generally sicker and require more supervision, and at the same time, devalues the MH care by reimbursing workers less to do so. It is also confusing, as the majority of people needing the service will have a co-occurring disorder. Regulations and reimbursement for MH IOP and MH Partial Hospital should be in-line with ARTS SUD MH IOP/Partial Hospital.
