Change to Codes

The change to supervision occurring without the client present becoming non-billable is ridiculous. It is sometimes unethical to discuss certain subject in the presence of a client or their family or even in their home if the family has cameras in the home. It is also unprofessional to discuss certain subjects in such as corrective feedback/criticism to our clinicians in front of families. Supervision in the privacy of an office rather than the home with the client present also provides clinicians with privacy and confidence in speaking/reporting certain subjects such as problems encountered during sessions. In addition to these, sometimes a client disables you from teaching/training clinicians things if the client is highly active or intense and requires constant interaction/intervention. If it is not billable, how do you expect supervisors to do this without being paid? That is ridiculous. They expect us to cram everything into an in-person supervision which will be overwhelimng for all involved. Medicaid is supposed be used to help these families who cannot afford to pay for these services. By changing these codes and rates, they are diservicing these families. They want to cut the supervisors out and just have the clinicians act independently which cannot be done since they need supervision. Insurance companies continue to become even more disgusting as civilization progresses. They are dispcable. Lastly, it does not make sense to make any changes to telehealth as the pandemic is no where near over and telehealth enables us to provide more services to clients because it cuts commute time out as well as enables us to fit in last minute an/or emerengency appointments with clients, families, and/or clinicians. Some clients actually do better with telehealth beacuse there is little or no reactivity and it gives clinicians they opportunity to show supervisors how session typically goes without the client knowing and showing off or becoming distracted with an additional person there.
