Please Recognize BCaBA/LaBAs Hard Work and Training

The changes outlined in this manual makes it seem like all of the hard work and training that BCaBA/LaBAs have completed, was for far less than it should be. People who are licensed in the state of Virginia as an LaBA should be recognized as such, and be able to bill for activities that they have been completing for years before. The training and education that BCaBA/LaBAs must go through is strenuous, ensuring they have had thousands of supervision hours and practice to do what they do, as well as hours upon hours of coursework. This manual change, removing the ability for them to bill, is a huge slap in the face to people who have worked so hard to get to where they are today. Not only that, but the families that these people work with are going to suffer because from my understanding, they will have less opportunity for oversight from BCBAs, because they will be spread so thin.

Please reconsider this change and allow for BCaBA/LaBAs to continue to bill for activities that they have worked so hard to learn how to perform, if not at the same rate as a BCBA, but maybe a reduced rate. Take all of the comments before me into mind, and think of these changes and how they will affect individual people/clients/companies/ and families. This change would be detrimental for many.
