Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 28.2-1302 and Chapter 14 28.2-1400 of the Code of Virginia, that the Northumberland County Wetlands Board will hold a public hearing in the Sheriff’s Office at 195 Judicial Place in Heathsville, Virginia, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, commencing at 7:00 P.M., to consider the following application for wetland and/or coastal primary sand dune and beach permits:

1. Request by Renee S. Baughan (V.M.R.C. #24-0764) to install 95 linear feet of riprap revetment channelward of an existing deteriorating bulkhead and replace a 12’ groin spur along the shoreline of the Potomac River and 136 River Road.
   2. Request by Shane Bell (V.M.R.C. #24-1406) to install 145 linear feet of riprap revetment channelward of an existing bulkhead along the shoreline of Cockrell Creek and 398 Sutton Avenue in Reedville.
   3. Request by Lorraine Holley (V.M.R.C. #24-1395) to install 100 linear feet of riprap revetment along the shoreline of Butler Cove and 227 Bramble Lane.
   4. Request by John Hudnall, Sr (V.M.R.C. #24-1464) to replace an existing timber bulkhead with 287 linear feet, including return walls, of vinyl bulkhead along the shoreline of Dividing Creek and 490 Dividing Creek Lane.

The applications requesting the proposed permits are on file in the Office of Building and Zoning at the Old Courthouse in Heathsville, VA, where all interested parties may view and inspect the projects.
