Chapter 254 of the 2021 Acts of Assembly creates the state-funded Kinship Guardianship Assistance Program, which provides an additional permanency option for youth in foster who are ineligible for the existing Kinship Guardianship Assistance Program.  Pursuant to the 2021 legislation, public comment is being sought on an action to amend 22VAC40-201, Permanency Services-Prevention, Foster Care, Adoption and Independent Living. The State Board of Social Services will take action on this regulation on August 18, 2021.
