Announcing Revisions and Proposed Amendments to be Considered at the Safety and Health Codes Board Electronic Emergency Meeting on

In accordance with Executive Order 63, Order of Public Health Emergency Five, Requirement to Wear Face Covering While Inside Buildings, the Department will be presenting to the Safety and Health Codes Board an Emergency Temporary Standard/Emergency Regulation, Infectious Disease Prevention, SARS-CoV-2 Virus That Causes COVID-19, §16 VAC 25-220, applicable to all employers and employees covered by Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH) program jurisdiction on June 24, 2020.

On June 12, 2020, the Department published a general notice announcing the emergency meeting and provided links to the proposed Emergency Standard/Regulation and briefing package. https://townhall.virginia.gov/L/ViewNotice.cfm?gnid=1118 The General Notice also initiated a 10-day comment forum for the public to register comments. That comment forum ended on 11:59pm June 22, 2020.

On June 23, 2020, the Department sent all Safety and Health Code Board Members a revised briefing package and proposed emergency temporary standard/regulation that took into consideration comments received from the comment forum. The Department also sent all Safety and Health Code Board Members some proposed amendments to the Emergency Temporary Standard/Regulation introduced by three Safety and Health Code Board members.

Please note there will not be an opportunity for the public to present comments during the June 24, 2020 Electronic Emergency Meeting.
