Effective Date:  September 25, 2025

On March 27, 2025, the State Water Control Board adopted revisions to the Water Quality Standards in 9VAC25-260-310 and 9VAC25-260-490. These revisions add site-specific freshwater selenium criteria for the protection of aquatic life to the Water Quality Standards for Virginia. The amendments were published in final form on June 30, 2025, Volume 41, Issue 23 of the Virginia Register to be effective upon filing notice of U.S. EPA approval with the Registrar of Regulations. The State Water Control Board has received a letter from Michelle Price-Fay, EPA Region III Water Division Director, dated September 23, 2025, approving all the amendments.

The effective date of the approved amendments is September 25, 2025.
