Purpose of the meeting The purpose of the meeting is to seek the public's input on a project to improve safety on Route 220 in Henry County and the advancement of this project. The project includes improvements to intersections and ramps from US-58 to the area of Marrowbone Circle. The project also includes improvements to the intersection of US-220 and Route 87. The Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) will host this required public hearing, pursuant to §33.2-202. VDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. The public is invited to review the project information at the public hearing or at VDOT’s Martinsville Residency Office located at 309 Weeping Willow Lane in Bassett, 276-629-2582, 1-800-FOR-ROAD, or TTY/TDD 711. The public is asked to call ahead to ensure the availability of appropriate personnel to answer questions. The public is invited to provide written or oral comments at the hearing or submit them by November 9, 2025, to Regan King, Virginia Department of Transportation, 731 Harrison Avenue, Salem, VA 24153. Comments may also be emailed to Salem-LDadmin@vdot.virginia.gov. Please reference “Route 220 Improvements – Henry County” in the subject heading.
