Purpose of the meeting The purpose of the meeting is to discuss or transact the business statutorily required or necessary to continue operation of the CTB and the discharge of its lawful purposes, duties and responsibilities. Specifically, the meeting is intended to provide information regarding the Six-Year Improvement Program (SYIP) and receive public comment on transportation projects recommended for funding in the FY2023-2028 Six-Year Improvement Program as well projects valued in excess of $25 million, pursuant to ยง33.2-202 of the Code of Virginia. The program allocates public funds to highway, road, bridge, rail, bicycle, pedestrian and public transportation projects. All federally eligible projects in the SYIP will be included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program to document how Virginia will obligate its federal funds. The public is invited to offer input/comment on projects recommended for funding in various ways. A formal comment period will be held at the meeting. In addition, the public is invited to share feedback on transportation projects that have been recommended for funding by submitting written comments by May 23, 2022 by email or by mail. The Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) will consider the public's comments as it develops the FY2023-2028 Six-Year Improvement Program.
