| Purpose of the meeting A public informational meeting on an application from Maury Service Authority (MSA) to land-apply biosolids from the Lexington-Rockbridge Regional Water Quality Control Facility to 1,483.2 acres at a controlled rate that is protective of water quality and human health. MSA currently land applies biosolids in Rockbridge County under the authority of a Virginia Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit. The proposed permit issuance will transfer authority to land apply biosolids on existing sites to a VPA permit and add 815.2 acres of new land application area. The informational meeting will provide the Department of Environmental Quality the opportunity to exchange information with the interested public on technical issues concerning the proposed issuance to the permit for land application, such as site-specific information, the standard content of permits that regulate land application, and how the public can provide comment for the requested new land application sites. | |
