Increasing the fees for license renewal by 65% is a huge burden on professionals who are practicing in one of the most poorly compensated professions. I strongly disagree with this increase. Our reimbursement rates are being cut, salaries are stagnant, and the board is going to increase our fees by 65%? This is unfair and out of step with the real world in which practicing LCSWs are trying to make a living.  

I concur with the previous comment about the rate increase being an undue burden. Furthermore, it could pose as a barrier to social workers who'd like to practice in Virginia--and social workers don't need any more barriers! This could potentially discourage qualified social workers and it would be unfortunate to lose them to MD or DC.
