Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

STRONGLY OPPOSE!!! This is wrong on so many levels.

It is a disgrace that this is even a possibility. So much for the “land of the free”. I guess we should let our children vote and drink alcohol too if they can make such decisions without a parent’s knowledge or consent. And to think that I’m supposed to send my child to school everyday and trust they’re in a safe environment when meanwhile they’re being put in a locker room or bathroom with the opposite sex? Preposterous! And not to mention they’re being brainwashed to believe that they don’t have to be the gender they were born. There are too many despicable details of this plan to even begin commenting how disgusting and disheartening it is to think this is the world we're living in. Not only taking away our rights as parents, but also our freedom of speech and freedom of religion. This is completely demented.
