I strongly support this initiative. All school children deserve to be treated respectfully and with consideration, regardless of age, gender identity, or gender expression. This can only foster better learning. I have a response for those that oppose. Those that oppose have a few reasons. 1. Trans women in bathrooms and changing rooms will endanger young cis girls. This has been addressed time and time again in public restrooms as being a non issue, why would it be any different in high school? Also stalls offer plenty of privacy. 2. If you're born male, you are a man and if you are born female, you are a woman. This has been disproved by scientist and the average person is not more qualified than scientists and peer reviewed research to make this type of statement. 3. It goes against the Bible! First off, seperation of church and state is essential and secondly, "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). Lastly 4. You are taking away my right as a parent in how I raise my child. As many have mentioned, that is what other options like home schooling are for. No one if infringeing on your rights by fostering an inclusive learning environment.
