Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

I have two young children that attend school in Virginia. I do not support transgender of any type and I feel it is a form of abuse to alow a child to make a choice that has already been made by God. I would never condone my children to ever be rude or mean or disrespectful or to bully someone that made this choice. Children have no idea who or what they want to be when they are young. I wanted to be a professional singer. Clearly that's just not possible if you can't sing. I feel allowing transgender in our public schools shouldnt be acceptable. If we are allowing every aspect of life then as a Christian I want God to be taught in school again. If everyone gets a voice then why are the Christians the ones that never get heard. Why does the way someone else feel matter more then the way I do. Highly oppose!!
