As a parent of two female students I am wholeheartedly opposed to these regulations. These regulations are harmful to children and injurious to parent-child relationships. Children, who are in the process of formulating their own personal identities, need careful, compassionate guidance from trustworthy adults and not from ones who will cater to and capitalize on their vacillating adolescent struggles. These policies intentionally remove parents from the integral part they play in the nurturing of their own children. In most circumstances, parents are the ones who care more intimately for their children than anyone else.  Set aside the fact that I chose to become a parent because I want to love, mold and shape my child to into a good kind human.  I am required by law to be financially responsible to my child therefore I feel that I should also be required by law to have full disclosure when it comes to all medical, mental health and educational information regarding my child.

In addition, the ability of any person being permitted to use any bathroom/locker room is alarming for the safety particularly of girls. The thought of boys/young men in the same changing facilities as girls/young women is shocking and an invitation for all kinds of sexual violations.

Hearing of these policies has already caused my girls a great deal of fear and anxiety because they know how the minds of adolescent boys work.  They both have said they will no longer go to the bathroom or in the locker rooms at school and I am sure that they are not the only female students who feel this way.  If adults truly believe that only those students who "identify" as another gender will be the ones taking advantage of these policies they are fooling themselves.  I pray that the depravity of the minds of this world will not take over and allow things like this to happen.  This is not natural, I don't care what anyone says and there is no medical or scientific reason to allow these policies to be put into place.  A biological male or female can "identify" however he/she wants and should not feel uncomfortable using the biologically correct restroom as there are stalls that he/she can enter and still have his/her privacy.
