Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

I strongly oppose this transgender policy to enter into our Viginia Department of Education. At the very beginning of our education policy making here in this country, it began with the New England Primer which taught very clearly that the Bible is the standard from which all spheres of influence branch from...it is the very foundation and bedrock of our nation being one nation under God.  Once you leave this foundation, every other foundation will not flourish or succeed but will be sinking sand.  Let's not bring our children into deception and confusion of the very simple and true facts that we are all made in God's image, male and female, He made us..born to reflect Him through the design He gave each of us to walk out. We as those older than the children, K-12, whether parents, teachers or relatives, friends will be held in stricter accountability for how and what we teach them.
