Clearly this proposal is just for show; there has never been any issue with concealed carriers in executive branch agencies, and enacting it under so-called emergency provisions is specious.
It is a fact that citizens get mugged, robbed, assaulted and what not in locations controlled by the executive branch which would be impacted by this regulation. This proposal makes it more onerous for us citizens to protect ourselves; and interestingly the state is not offering any increased protection in return, so it would be silly for us to acquiesce to such a notion.
Further, it would make our lives significantly more difficult for doing the things we routinely need to do, such as drivers license exams and myriad other tasks which will require us carriers to find somebody to temporarily wait outside and hold our arms while we do such tasks.
I would like to point out that in addition to the 2nd amendment to the Federal constitution, Article 1, Section 13 of the Virginia constitution also prohibits any infringement of our right to keep (own, possess, etc.) and bear (carry) arms, and makes NO exceptions for executive branch agencies.
Use common sense and quit trampling our rights.
