I fully 100% support PT in their abilities to administer dry needling both effectively and precisely. I have a personal success story with a highly trained therapist, but/and I think removing this option to patients who suffer is borderline unconscionable. PTs are trained in the anatomical and clinical knowledge, they posses the knowledge and skills to perform this much needed methodology. Further, dry needling is vastly different from any type of acupuncture and should not be considered a threat, but a compliment. I have an acupuncturist who has been my doctor for 12+ years; he both supports verbally and physically the dry needling technique. The combined results have been astounding, I am so grateful to have this option.
