I support the Board of Health's decision to amend the medically-unnecessary restrictions that will close safe, trusted women's health care centers that provide abortions. As a woman, reproductive health is so important. Access to all forms of health care, including healthcare centered around reproductive organs is a human right that should not be denied to me because of my gender. Cancer screenings, mammograms, birth control, safe, legal and accessible abortion, and other reproductive health check ups should not be restricted based on politics. It’s clear that the restrictions have nothing to do with patient safety and everything to do with inserting a politician between a woman and her doctor. In order for women to participate fully in democracy, we must have access to services that enable us to plan our families, safeguard our health and pursue educational and employment opportunities.
Fix these restrictions and keep Virginia women’s health centers open.
Thank you.
