I think it is very important that these restrictions be amended to reflect standards based on evidence-based medicine; otherwise, it is politicians trying to control women's bodies and health decisions, taking away their rights to decide for themselves. First trimester abortion is safe when performed to US medical standards; we should be encouraging people to get healthcare in a safe and effective manner, not pushing them into backrooms due to lack of options- especially when those options are currently being removed for specious reasons, without health-based evidence.
