Board of Health,
I always thought the argument for permitting abortions was to protect womens health. Yet abortion clinics are not required to meet the same standards as other surgical centers. Some contend that veterinary clinics have to meet tougher standards than abortion clinics. Why should the health of women be held to such a low standard" Why the exemptions for abortion providers" The truth is that in many cases it would seem that back alley abortions are still permitted but under the deception that they are now in a "clinic". The state, by permitting lax standards (or no standards) is merely providing cover for poor sanitation, poor methods and protocols and poor (or non existent) patient care. It is immoral to allow abortion providers to treat women patients so callously and with such extreme neglect. Make them meet the same standards as any and all other surgical centers. The health of women should be held in a higher regard. Anyone opposing such standards of care has no regard for the health or well being of women. Elizabeth Thurber
