I urge the Board of Elections to continue to protect the franchise with the broadest possible interpretation of acceptable documents to allow citizens to vote. That means rejecting Senator Obenshain's call for a change to the current law, which, as it stands, allows expired driver's licenes and passports to be used as Voter ID. These documents have photos: they should be accepted as the June ruling declared they should be. The franchise is the cornerstone right of our democratic republic and efforts to limit it do not serve that republic's interest.
