I live in Oxford House - TRILLIUM in Harrisonburg. Oxford Houses are democratically self-governing and self-supporting under the Oxford House system of operations. 

 

Oxford has helped me tremendously with re-entry back into society from a period of incarceration.  I have gained so much stabilization in my life thanks to Oxford House and so many positive things have been happening in my life and I owe it all to the existence of Oxford and my will to want to recover.  I've attempted recovery on my own many times throughout my life and have yet to have as much success as I have currently now that I reside in an Oxford house.

 

I support rules that keep people safe, but rules that require staff or assume every home is a commercial business would keep Oxford Houses from operating in Virginia, even though research shows our model gets the best results. Please change those rules, and please clarify whether house members are considered the operator.
