As a consumer of EMS services in a deadly crime scene I support the removal of the "no weapons" regulation. EMS personnel are dispatched to scenes where they are shot at, often arriving on site well before the arrival of law enforcement. There are occassions when they are targeted for the drugs carried on board. They currently have no means of self defense. If they can be trusted to perform life-saving medical procedures they certainly can be trusted to carry and use handguns in accordance with the law.
