Guidance Document Change: DEQ Guidance Memo APG-578 addresses the use of emergency generators in the case of “sudden and reasonably unforeseeable events” as the result of a planned electric outage.
Do not allow use of polluting emergency generators at data centers during planned outages
We must protect the residents near data centers from air and noise pollution abused by emergency generators. They should only be used in limited emergency situations.
