SUPPORT 12VAC35-278

Thank you to DBHDS for this regulatory package that ensures that every person will receive nationally recognized and high quality “no-wrong door” community-based crisis services.

When Connections Health Solutions, an experienced crisis services provider in other locations, successfully bid on a contract to provide a comprehensive crisis program for both children and adults in Prince William County, the regulatory barriers to operating our model in Virginia was burdensome and uncertain.

In the 2024 session of the General Assembly, not only were we successful in resolving the issues found in the Code of Virginia related to the storage and administration of medication, but the barriers found in the Licensing and Human Rights regulations were also addressed.

We support the proposed regulations are not only designed to provide guidance and direction to the providers of services, but also to offer protections and assurance of best practice to the recipients of those services.  These regulations do both!
