With additional education, training, and teaching of practice, please allow athletic trainers to use dry needling. We are health care professionals with masters degrees and state licensure. We need to know when to refer out to other health professionals just as we do with orthopedic, gen med, emergency care, etc; but we are capable in assisting the health care and sports performance of our athletes using the technique of dry needling.
