I strongly oppose the increase in fees. It is unjust to cause nursing professionals to absorb excessive costs of this board to not only govern the practice of the nursing professionals but also the facilities in which we are employed. The conditions of nursing today are overwhelming. Nurses are required to manage excessive patients and then we are penalized for doing our best in the capacity of our scope and within our physical abilities. If any one should be facing an increase in fees to improve governance, it's the facility itself because they are creating these unsafe environments with irrational nurse to patient ratios. A 60%+ increase is NOT justifiable. Nurses should not be penalized for the ineffective practices facilities put in place to keep us from being successful at our jobs.
