I firmly support the elimination of Objective Written Documentation. As live-in caregivers, we are often the only dependable option after numerous attempts to hire external care fail. We’ve experienced the frustrations of no-show attendants, those who leave early, and others who prioritize their phones over their clients. The constant struggle to find reliable care forces us, as family members, to step up and take on the role of caregiver. We, like any loving family, simply want our special needs loved ones to receive consistent, quality care. When outside solutions fail, we must look to ourselves. The requirement for Objective Written Documentation only adds another layer of unnecessary bureaucracy, penalizing live-in caregivers who step up when others do not.
