OPPOSE HOUND TRESPASS

Virginia is an open leash law state, restricting this legislation to only bear and deer hunting dogs is discrimination. Pets can and do often trespass more than any hunting dog. Will all dogs be included in this dog trespassing legislation? Virginia is also a fence out state, if you do not want someone or something on your property, erect a fence to keep them out! This proposed legislation, if passed, will lead to the end of hunting with dogs in Virginia. The department and its unelected board of directors have ignored their own data, the Virginia general assembly, and the vast majority of the sportsmen and women to propose this action. The department has set a course that betrays its own charter. I STRONGLY oppose this regulation and its companion regulation mandating GPS collars in the strongest possible terms.
