Action | Adding Section 310: GPS Tracking collars for bear and deer hunting with dogs |
Stage | Proposed |
Comment Period | Ended on 7/5/2024 |
The requirement for GPS collars has the appearance of simply ratifying an existing practice, but it is one additional step to speed the end of hunting with dogs in Virginia. The cost of GPS equipment is prohibitive for new hunters. The already declining number of hunters has a direction relationship to the burdensome regulations and added costs resulting from years of unelected Board of Director members, who have little or no real hunting experience. Where is the urgency to deal with declining hunter numbers? There have been few if any meaningful steps by successive Boards!
