No one can deny the impact the Omega fleet has had on the Chesapeake Bay and its fisheries. The fact that this organization has essentially been allowed to fish with little to no regulation for as long as they have is a tragedy. The Menhaden are the lifeblood of the ecosystem. They're the roots that the entire tree grows from. Without the Menhaden, this world class fishery and indescribably important ecosystem will collapse...all because of corporate greed. The economic impact on the surrounding states will be 100 times larger than the profit Omega is making if this ecosystem collapses. The surrounding states need to finally do the right thing and start taking steps to end the disgraceful practices of this greedy Canadian company.
