As some who is a passionate outdoorsman and who directly relies on the Chesapeake bay and surrounding fisheries for my livelihood (I manage a outdoor/fly fishing retailer), I fully support gear reform for the menhaden fishery in Virginia. We need to ensure that large predatory (game) fish populations, like striped bass, are not impacted by bycatch in these large commercial nets.
