While CO2 has a minor greenhouse effect, it is absolutely essential to life on this planet.  Below about 180 ppm, plants begin to suffocate.  In prehistory, the CO2 level has been over 7000 ppm.  Spending trillions to lower the percentage of this gas in the atmosphere is akin to attempted suicide.  The only benefit of this "endeavor" is to benefit some who are already wealthy and powerful and an attempt to crash the US economy.
