Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative

I have lived in Virginia for more than 40 years and support Governor Glenn Youngkin's decision for Virginia to start withdrawing from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.

Customers of Dominion Energy Virginia will have paid by the end of this year more than two thirds of the $500 million paid by electricity generators in the state.  Toward what end?  The RGGI has NOT accelerated the CURRENT TREND of Virginia's generators and other industrial users' moving AWAY FROM coal and natural gas.

The measured percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere has NOT BEEN LOWERED by the RGGI and will not be.  Virginia receives electricity from states that do not have a compact like RGGI.  The atmosphere over Virginia is part of global atmosphere which has a rising level of CO2; perhaps RGGI supporters could put more effort into changing the CO2 outputs elsewhere.
