No to variance

My concern with the local counties’ approval of data center permits is that none of these counties has a procedure to look at the impact on the environment and communities.  Those seeking applications refuse to answer the most basic questions regarding impact on electrical and water usage, noise impacts, etc. And yet, these data centers are approved and built all over these counties- some very close to residential neighborhoods. Until these counties create a procedure to demand answers and consider the environmental impact in all categories, we should not allow variances or other concessions.

One of the jobs of government is to protect their citizens. Let us hope these counties take that job seriously. We do not want to find out the long-term impact of these data centers, when we could have studied them now.
