Of course we need to give data centers a variance to run generators when there is an emergency or power grid shortage.  If we didn't we would have massive systems failures not only for people, but for businesses,hospitals, etc.  Data centers are at the forefront  in developing and introducing technology that makes generator use more environmentally acceptable.
