There absolutely needs to be stronger regulations on stores that sell puppies and kittens. I have personally done hundreds of hours research on stores that sell puppies and puppy mills. I have never come across a pet store that does not source its puppies from puppy mills. In addition, a lot of these stores have violations pertaining to insufficient care, veterinary care, and subpar housing. They also more often than not engage in shady business practices, including misleading customers, selling sick puppies and being deceptive about the source of their puppies. And outright ban of the sale of puppies and kittens in pet stores would be preferable, but, regardless, there needs to be stricter regulations on the stores for the benefit of consumers animal welfare, and the general health of the community.
