State exam vs. national exam

My name is Debbie Wright and I have been an executive director in assisted living for 14 years. I am one of several who now have to take the national exam. I understand that we should have to be licensed as well as take an exam. However, I agree with a statewide exam only.

Also, the Assisted Living Facilities need to keep our professionals in our state. What will happen if our facilities are forced to close? Where will employees go if we are forced out of the assisted living business and therefore it is necessary to close? What about all of our wonderful residents and finally, what has happened to workforce development? We need to consider the impact that this is having on the Assisted Living Facilities and our state. Along with these problems our economy is already unstable.

Thank you,

Debbie Wright
