I was a student at Excelsior College. I had finished all of my exams and only had my 3 days of clinicals to complete the program. I would have been able to beat the deadline and become a RN in Virginia if I had not been hospitalized due to preterm labor during the time that I was suppose to complete clinicals. Since I could not get clinicals completed, I am going to withdraw from the program. I can't afford to pay for another annual fee to remain enrolled. It does not make any sense to me to obtain my RN license in another state when I already work in Virginia as a RN. If it had not been for this change I would have remained enrolled and completed clinicals, but who wants to work in another state for such a period of time. Please reconsider this change. Excelsiors Clinicals are very difficult to pass, just check pass rates. This was one thing that scared me about Excelsiors program. I will now have to go back to school for another year to obtain the same license that I would have gotten by completing Excelsiors program, but at least this way I can work in the state that I live in.
