In short, I am a woman who enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities. More than once, I have been accosted by someone while out for a walk by myself in the evening. I am not the type to panic or over react but I have to say that there are many dangerous people on the streets these days and I have felt unsafe more than once. I have a permit to carry concealed and have had one since I was a prosecutor on a drug task force many years ago.  Being able to carry while on state park land would make me feel far more secure and enable me to use the facilities that were meant to be enjoyed by the public, not just become a safe-haven for the predators.
