Dear ladies and gentlemen,
Please let me say I appreciate your time and attention to my communication.
Regarding :The reviewing of the administrative policy and hearing comments pertaining to the the prohibition carrying a concealed weapon, by and individual with a concealed weapons permit within the boundaries of state parks.
States and federal governments parks are not without risk or danger. A person having a permit to carry a concealed weapon issued by the circuit court's of Virginia is deprived of the same privilege when inside park boundaries. just as in the city and the suburbs there are in the parks threats against law-abiding people. Whether or not these threats come from individuals with bad intentions or occasionally from wild or diseased animals the Park service cannot expect to be there on the spot every time. traditionally administrative agencies and police forces would seem to want civilians to remain unarmed. People with illegal intentions are not going to mind these administrative policies and the occasional rabid animal or coyote most likely will not hear those policies also. Park staffing does not allow for someone to be alongside every hiker or visitor at every moment.
Considering these possibilities and that the Circuit courts of Virginia have authorized the issuance of a concealed carry permit to an individual, after application and finger printing, that the State accept and respect the courts decision.
Thank you for your consideration.
Cordially,
Doug Duke
