I ask that you amend VA State Forrest Reg. 4VAC10-30-170 so that a person with a valid permit to carry a concealed handgun may do so in Virginia's state parks. As a hunter and also as someone who just enjoys being in our beautiful outdoors, the peace of mind of having a means of self defense, whether the threat is from a dangerous animal or deranged person would be most comforting. I know I have wondered what would I do if I should be attacked by, for instance, a rabid coyote while bowhunting or even hunting with a muzzleloader. I would have one chance to have some sort of shot to protect myself. If I could carry my handgun, which I posses a valid concealed carry permit, the odds of a good outcome for me would greatly increase. For this reason, and others, I ask that you consider the amendment. I strongly believe in our Second Amendment rights, and hope that this regulation can be amended . Thank you
