I fully support the concealed carry of firearms in our state forest, as well as open carry. I understand that what is being considered is concealed carry. Being able to defend oneself, especially in a forested area, to me is essential. I believe the second amendment should be upheld, especially by the government that wrote the amendment, on the land the government owns! Those who have a concealed carry permit have undergone a background check, and have some level of proficiency in handling their weapon. Far more than the second amendment requires! Their mear presence makes the park safer, and any would be criminal would be hesitant to accost people in a state park if they knew they could be armed. And of course there are other dangers such as snakes and wild animals. Please amend the language to allow for concealed carry, and if possible, even open carry.
