I believe there should be overwhelming support from the State in adopting the regulations that would allow our concealed carry laws to extend into the parks system. Criminals do not make any distinction as to where they will victimize law abiding citizens. I also believe most  will be deterred if the possibility exist that someone may be carrying concealed while visiting our State Parks.

  The rangers can't be everywhere, they are too few in number, and the area assigned too large to guarantee protection of every visitor, especially those in more remote locations. The right to self defense should not be restricted  just because you are visiting the Park. There have been rapes, murders, assaults, robberies, etc....... , the list of crimes committed within the Parks include every crime committed outside the Park System. The visitors that express their legal right to carry concealed will not diminish the authority or reliance upon the Rangers assigned to the Park, but will in fact be an invisible asset. The safety of all in the visitors within the park will be enhanced. There is no valid reason not to support the concealed carry regulations to extend into our State Parks System.
