I urge you to remove the Advocates for Youth website from the proposed Virginia Department of Health Virginia School Health Guidelines for public schools. This offensive website, which is listed in the document’s “Sexual Health” resources section, promotes abortion, a “Free the Pill” campaign, videos targeting children as young as 10 years old, and numerous other items that many parents, including myself, recognize as extremely harmful to children’s health and well-being. This site is listed as a “resource” in the proposed guidelines, when in reality it promotes the exact opposite of what our youth should be taught. Please remove this highly objectionable, completely unacceptable site from the proposed school health guidelines document. Resources that promote abstinence should be included instead of ones that encourage young children to become sexually active.
