Mobile Crisis - "A referral from the Crisis Hotline is required"

Obvious concern expressed by many and for several months.  This is impractical.  The Code of Virginia requires that LEO notifies CSB upon issue of ECO.  It is illogical that CSB would have to contact Call Center for purposes of reimbursement for a code-mandated assessment or for LEO instead to call the Call Center and would not be aligned with Code.  Of all times – not wise to request unnecessary processes of ES which is filling systemic gaps.  ONLY CSB’s per Code can conduct mandated prescreening evaluation for involuntary hospitalization.  Use of the modifier provides adequate information for reimbursement.  If not for purpose of reimbursement, extensive data regarding ES’s activities are already reported monthly.

Creates unnecessary administrative activities without added value for CSBs, LEO, regional call center or for client care.  Not consistent with being good stewards of time, resources, or efforts in a crisis.  Additionally, this would include an urgent situations at the CSB where individuals with Seriously Mentally Ill are served.  Duplicative work is inconsistent with practices Virginia committed to.
